As I begin the day, I look at my schedule, consider the weather, and any other factors that may play into my decisions to stick to my goals for health/fitness.  It’s sunny and beautiful, so definitely going to hop on my bike.  And since, I have a goal to increase my daily overall movement, I think I will bike to get some errands done (bank, grocery store).  Fortunately, that’s feasible in small town Cheney.  Cardio-check.  Hmmm…need to throw in some knee rehab work, so perhaps during a break from home office work this morning.  That will take just 10 mins.  Check.  I would like to get to the gym and do some shoulder/arms strength.  That will have to take place at the end of the work day, just before yoga class.  Strength-check.  Flexibility and relaxation-check.  Set your goals ahead and stick to them-you can do it!

See how the brain works! So, I happen to pass by the trash can, and I see the wrapper my chocolate came in (from a while ago :)), and immediately I heard an inner voice say, “I want some chocolate, that sounds good!” Then I paused and took note of my Pavlovian response and quickly intercepted with deconditioning thinking, “Heck NO, you aren’t even going to entertain that thought..I am not really hungry for chocolate”. The mind is a valuable resource!

I am in Salt Lake City for the week. Had a great breakfast of eggs, asparagus, part of an orange.

Went to Temple Square yesterday, did a lot of walking, hip gave me a bad time.

Our condo is at 8500 feet, having trouble with sinsus. Like it when we drive to Salt Lake City (30 minutes) all down hill to around 4500 feet. Very nice.

The Condo has a wonderful spa, went into out door hot tub and swiming pool yesterday when it was snowing.

      Talk to you later.

This blogging thing is very new to me, so a little out of my comfort level, but I am trying. So far the food plan and the working out is going fine, almost easy. I am feeling a little more tired, probably just a change in what I am eating. Went for a nice walk yeaterday @ lunchtime with an office coworker, which was nice except she has very long legs, so i had to hurry along to keep up.
