FITNESS TRAINING SERVICES



Face to Face training @ the Gym:

Individual Personal Training includes:

  • Complimentary Initial Consultation includes an interview questionnaire to help me understand more fully an individual’s needs and goals, exercise history, attitudes toward health and fitness, reasons motivating them to seek out personal training, etc.
  • Health/Medical History
  • Exercise Program Design, exercise prescription for medical limitations/needs/goals, and exercise demonstration.  Design and prescriptions include a blend of strength, resistance, functional, stability, mobility, cardiovascular and flexibility training.
  • Health/Fitness assessment includes sub maximal tests of cardiovascular status, upper and lower body, and core strength, as well as mobility and stability functional exercise screening.  Body girth measurements and body composition baselines are established.
  • Motivational Nutrition/health coaching includes setting health goals, learning lifestyle fitness and nutrition principles,  coaching for adherence and compliance, and requiring accountability.  Clients receive handouts to assist with grocery planning, menu planning and adherence to goals established.
  • Optimal Performance Bodywork is manual fascia stretching.  Dependent on client needs, I will perform certain manual stretch techniques to assist with improving the body’s function.

Partner Personal Training includes:

  • All of the above.
  • Management of attention to different needs/goals with two individuals.  Partner training works well individuals of similar goals and needs.   It is also fun for husband/wife teams.
  • Working with a partner or friend is fun. Consider doing this with a work friend, spouse, or someone you want to set personal physical and nutritional goals with.

Group Personal Training:

This approach works well for like-minded individuals with similar health and fitness goals. Group training is more standardized, but there is still a level of attentiveness to particular needs/goals. Exercises are modified to accommodate varied needs and limitations.  Groups are usually catering to a particular goal such as weight loss, back/core strengthening, cardiovascular training, or flexibility.  Limited to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 persons.

All sessions are pre-paid at the beginning of the month.  NO refunds for any reason.  Make ups allowed when cancellation  notice is within 24 hours.  Once a make-up is scheduled, this session, can then, not be rescheduled if missed.  It will be a forfeit.

Experience:

  • Group Exercise/Aerobics Instructor 15+ years
  • 5 years personal training experience in primary medical care, physical therapy, and cardiovascular rehabilitation settings.
  • Collaborated with Registered Dieticians  and other health professionals regarding patient/client issues.
  • 14 years experience personal fitness training
  • Former Figure Skater…achieved Silver status with USFSA (United States Figure Skating Association) -
  • Former Dance training (I.e. ballet, jazz, modern, tap) 15 + years
  • Personal Interests are Weight Training, Yoga, Dance, Inline Skating, Spinning, Running, Alternative/Naturalistic approaches to healthcare.
